How do I access my server remotely?

Dedicated server desktop access is available via our secure gateway server.  To gain access you will be given user details for remote access.  If you need the details of the servers address, please raise a support ticket.

We recommend using BitVise's tunnellier however any ssh client will work that support Client 2 Server tunneling.

For Microsoft Remote Desktop, configure the SSH client to listen locally on 127.0.0.2 and a high random port number, the remote connection will be your server's private IP address and port 3389.

Note: We have had reports on the Tunnellier built-in option for remote desktop does not work on Windows Vista and some Windows XP machines.  Please manually add the C2S settings on the C2S tab.

For Linux console access, configure the SSH client to listen locally on localhost and high random port, the remote server will be the private IP address of your server and port 22.

If you have any difficulties please raise a support ticket and we will be more than happy to help you.

We are currently trialing a RDP Secure Gateway which will remove the requirement to use the SSH.
