Email and database problems (UPDATED 10:00am 14 Dec)

At 1924 on Sunday we suffered a catastrophic server failure caused by a blocked air vent in the data centre which meant the primary mail and database server over heated and crashed. We rebuilt the server and started the restore in the early hours of yesterday morning.

All databases have been restored and we are now 30% through the restore of emails, so please bear with us - however, we must remind everyone that as per our T&Cs we do not guarantee to retain all emails and they will be restored on a best endeavours.

If you collect your email via POP or IMAP then you will have all your emails locally on your mail client.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and we are working with the data centre to ensure that this does not happen again.

We're now 40% through the email recovery, we're expecting it to be another 24 hours to be complete.  However, we have had reports that the secure ports are not working.  We are looking into this issue as a matter of urgency.
