Email and database problems (UPDATED 10:00am 14 Dec)At 1924 on Sunday we suffered a catastrophic server failure caused by a blocked air vent in the data centre which meant the primary mail and database server over heated and crashed. We rebuilt the server and started the restore in the early hours of yesterday morning. All databases have been restored and we are now 30% through the restore of emails, so please bear with us - however, we must remind everyone that as per our T&Cs we do not guarantee to retain all emails and they will be restored...

Slow email deliveryA compromise of a customers email account has lead to a slow down in email being received or sent. We are currently clearing a backlog of 20,000 emails. Infrastructure UpgradeThis evening we will be performing essential maitainance and upgrading of the hardware for our hosted exchange and online backup servers. These upgrades include firmware, memory, CPU and storage. It is expected that services may become intermittent between 1930 and 2130 this evening. All upgrades should be completed by 2130 and normal service resumed.

UK3 slow websitesWe are currently investigating a problem on UK3 whereby a the CPUs are randomly hitting 100% and cause poor performance. We have identified the process causing the problem but not the website. We are working to correct the problem plus fix the load balancing which will resolve the issue.

PBX 1 Queue issuesUpdate 16:20 - We are monitoring the phone system but the issue seems to be resolved now. We will continue to monitor PBX 1. We are currently investigating a number of issues related to a power outtage in the data centre. These are affecting users on PBX1. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Slow perfornace on sites with MySQL running on UK6 - Fixed25/03/2011 0230 - Monitoring has shown that the issue is fully resolved and service has returned to normal. 23/03/2011 12.38 - We're currently investigating reports of slow performance of site that have databases on uk6. Our engineers are looking to find the issue and resolve it as soon as possible. Linux websites are unaffected by this issue.
